Review Garrison Girls by Rachel Aaron
Attack On Titan has become a fan favorite franchise in it's native Japan and the United States. It's an engaging blend of Horror and Drama with a strong central cast.
There is however tremendous potential for side stories as this novel explores. This book can be read without any knowledge of the Anime or Manga. It is set during the events in the first season of the series and introduces us to Rosalie Dumarque. A young woman who has lead an isolated life in the walled city due to her families wealth.
With only six months until Rosalie surrenders her freedom to marriage and tradition Rosalie demands her Father let her serve her remaining months in the survey corps.
Rosalie gets her wish and becomes part of the Wall Rose Garrison. It's one of the most deadly places for a corps member and Rosalie is up for it! She wants to make a difference in the world before she is isolated from it in the inner walls forever.
I really enjoyed this story. AOT resonates strongly with women because it has several strong women leads. Rosalie fits nicely into this universe and I enjoyed how Rachel shared her story.
