Today's Star Wars 50: Review Thrawn Alliances

I struggled with this book. One of my favorite authors and two amazing characters, yet I still struggled until I reached the middle of the the book. I loved seeing Thrawn interact with a young Anakin and the tension between Vader and Thrawn crackles off the page. 
Padme was an interesting addition but unfortunately her presence did nothing to add depth to her relationship with Anakin. A wonderful third act but my expectations for this book were much higher.
